The drive to Capitol Reef was tedious, but the hours of driving were redeemed by the views as we approached the park.

Ed and I were feeling athletic after several days of sitting in meetings and a morning in the car. We decided to take one of the park trails in hopes of shaking off some of the mental cobwebs. The hike to Cassidy Arch was a bit more than we had bargained; the vigorous climb quickly had me feeling my age. This photo of the arch (said to be a hideout of the Butch Cassidy Gang) was shot from the trail. Discretion being the better part of valor, we never made it any closer to the arch than this.
